Joey Chiu's Greenspring Inn, Baltimore MD

Welcome to The Petite Food Lover!  First, I want to thank my friend Lisa for inspiring me to start a food blog. I have learned from the best and she will certainly be a guest blogger. For those of you who do know me, you know I love food, and for those of you who don't you'll figure that out pretty quickly.

Many of you also know that my favorite cuisine happens to be Chinese food. For that reason, I have decided to do my first post on my favorite Chinese food restaurant, Joey Chiu's.  Joey Chiu's is located in a Baltimore suburb. I grew up in Baltimore and it has been a family regular for years. Whenever I come home, I insist we go to Joey's for dinner. I love getting greeted by owner Mimi, who has known me for just about 20 years and has seen me grow. She always gives me a big smile and a warm welcome.

The food is delish. Now granted, it's on the pricier side and if you are looking for cheap and greasy Chinese, this would not be my first choice recommendation. That said, you can't go wrong when you order at Joey's. My favorites include the pan fried dumplings (you will quickly learn that dumplings are my favorite food and will dictate my food ratings), sesame shrimp and the pan fried noodles (you will also quickly learn that I happen to love fried food).

The decor is nice and the restaurant works for a date night, dinner with friends or family affair. Make sure to bring a sweater because they keep the place cold.

Since two thumbs up and four stars are taken, I have created my own rating system. Joey Chiu's you get 4.5 dumplings out of a total of 5. I look forward to visiting your fine establishment for years to come.
